Hong Kong - Veterinary Care
Hong Kong Veterinarian Association
You can find English speaking veterinarians as well as English speaking surgeons in the country. There are also 24-hour emergency services available from providers. The SPCA also has a veterinary clinic that many expats choose to go to. In addition to their regular clinics, they have mobile units and a 24 hour clinic that is open for emergencies. The main center offers grooming ad boarding. For more information on the veterinary clinic, visit: http://www.spca.org.hk/eng/vet/vetclinic.asp
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has headquarters in Wanchai.

The Veterinary Surgeons Board of Hong Kong has a list of veterinary surgeons registered in Hong Kong. On their website, you can find not only their names and addresses, but where they received their training as well. For more information, visit the following:

There are also several other veterinarian services on the island, too. The Non-Profit Veterinary (NPV) has a staff that is on hand to gain experience in working with animals. The prices are very inexpensive, anywhere from 15-40% less than what other offices might charge, but the clinic can get booked up very far in advance. For more information, you can visit their website at http://www.npv.org.hk , although there is limited information available in English. The ARK veterinary clinic is open 24 hours and located near the Mid-Levels. Many of its doctors have studied abroad and are English speaking.
Most expats find that if they discover a veterinarian they really like, it is helpful to ask for that particular doctor each time they return since care can even vary across the different doctors in a clinic. Due to the number of veterinarians and clinics in Hong Kong, if you find that you are unsatisfied with the care you and your pet have received, it’s always possible to go elsewhere and get a second opinion. Most of the neighborhoods have at least one veterinarian on hand.
In addition to the list of vaccinations that pets must have before entering Hong Kong, it is also prudent for cats and dogs to have routine shots against Parvo, Distemper and Cat Flu. Regular to prevent intestinal worms, heartworms and tick and flea infestations are advised as well.
Veterinarians can provide basic services, such as general check-ups, as well as surgeries, treatments for worms and flea infestations, and other services that you would probably normally be able to get your pet in your home country.
