Questions are encouraged and with over six thousand active members you are sure to find the answers you are looking for. Recommendations as well as experiences are shared here, the good and the bad get equal airtime and both are dealt with in good humour.

An open group with almost nine thousand members founded to give English speakers seeking a life in Istanbul a means to ask for, and find, information. More than just what is going on in the city, though of course there are plenty of expat centric events posted, you will get a real community feel here with people sharing job opportunities, advice and Turkey through their own eyes.

Finding food from home in order to recreate memorable tastes can be a struggle for expats, this group can tell you where to find what you need, or what to bring with you. The recipes shared are from all over the world just like the members of the group, and all have been made with ingredients that are available locally.
