Calling himself a middle-aged ExPrat, Kuanyin has spent many years living the expat life – in his own words ‘ducking and diving, but never skiving!’ His blog isn’t updated often, but when the muse seizes him, he writes at length about the culture and practices of life in Azerbaijan – and the archive is well worth a read.

Anke shares her view of life in Baku via the medium of her lens and keyboard. Sharing her exploration of the city and the country, either with her camera, riding the local buses or a combination of the two, this is a fascinating window onto life in this country in the South Caucasus region, situated at the crossroads of Southwest Asia and Southeastern Europe.

Although Hayley has now said farewell to Azerbaijan, her blog is so helpful that the archive of posts definitely deserves a place here. Originally hailing from Michigan, US, she spent a year co-teaching, acting as an English/American culture resource, plugging herself into Baku’s community, and learning about a culture that she fell in love with.
We’re always on the lookout for more sites to feature – if you run a blog about living abroad, leave us a link in the comments and we’ll take a look!
